USB-UIRT IR files for Motorola DSR505

I am having problems creating the required IR settings file for my Motorola DSR505 set top boxes. Would anyone have a working USB-UIRT IR file for this box that they would be willing to share ?

Thank you.

Hi Berg,

I have a working file at home (I'm at work right now). I can upload it tonight for you though.

Berg,

I have two SC receivers, each using a different remote address (000, and 001). I believe the following file is for the default remote address (000), if it doesn't work let me know and I can upload the other file.

Good luck.

Thanks. I will give this a try tomorrow. I was trying to make use of the zones in the USB-UIRT, maybe that's what's giving a hard time.

Thanks again.

Ah, I'm not using zones. The Star Choice receivers support separate remote addresses so I just programmed two different sets of IR codes, and have all of them shooting out of the main USB-UIRT blaster.

This might be a bit of a help to you though if you want to use zones:

Thanks Peter. I was using zones successfully with Rogers and wrote an article or two here or on the BeyondTV forum on how to set it up, it just for some reason, I have been having problems with the StarChoice boxes.

Plus, I have two boxes that I will be controlling with the USB-UIRT and capturing the "traditional " way and two R5000 modified boxes that I don't want to respond to the IR requests.

I'll figure it out. Thanks again.

Do you have any idea how I could get a Hauppauge 45 button / Hauppauge IR blaster to respond to the change of address using a Starchoice DSR-505?

When I change the receiver's code from 000 to anything else (001, 002, etc)the Hauppauge IR blaster stops controlling the receiver. There is a file called "irremote.ini" in my Windows Dir which controls the Hauppauge's actions, but I do not have the computing know-how to make the necessary changes so as to enable the change in address.

I don't have the Hauppauge IR blaster, so I'm not exactly sure how to set it up.

If you change the receiver's address to something else, you'll need some way to change the codes that the Hauppauge IR blaster outputs. For the USB-UIRT, you can have it learn new commands through the SageTV setup. Perhaps it would work the same for the Hauppauge blaster.

CAn you point me to an URL that explains this concept for the USB-UIRT? Also, what recording card are you using with the UIRT?
thanks

Could you post both of the USB-UIRT files you have for addresses 000 and 001, so I can look at converting to the USB-UIRT IR unit.

thanks

The Hauppauge IR Blaster comes with its own configuration software. It is separate from the IR Receiver software used for the remote control. You must run that first (outside of Sage) to get it configured for your STB.

Thanks - I know that software, and ran through it's setup procedure to check if there was any way to change the receiver's address channel. There was none that I could find. IF you know of a way to change the address using the IR blaster software then I would appreciate if you could point me to it.

thanks

@peternm22

Your text files only have the data for 0-9 which appears to be the standard for USB-UIRT IR files.

Would you happen to have the data for the rest of the DSR505 functions? (Most importantly for POWER)

Thanks,

RS

I never had a need for the power command, so I never captured it. What do you need it for?
