100hz, HD100, PAL

Hi All,

I know there's a few threads around that cover similar topics to this but I can't understand a lot of them. I have a HD100 and a PAL TV that can do 100hz but I don't know what I have to change in the code or where to change it so that the HD100 will output at 100hz. I'm happy with the current res just not the refresh.

Can anyone dumb it down for me?

All PAL TVs that I've used will take a 50Hz signal and double it internally.

I'm feeding my Panasonic plasma with 1280*720@50Hz and it displays it at 100Hz (theres an option in the TV setup and the difference is clearly visible).

I'm in UK and want one of these machines but am concerned that they will be NTSC only.

Is anyone over here using one successfully?

I'm using one here in the UK. The current firmware doesn't support PAL and any PAL material played on it does judder BUT last week I installed the BETA firmware which does support PAL and it's made a world of difference.
This BETA firmware only allows the HD100 to be set as either PAL or NTSC whereas an automatic mode would be nice.

I'm in Australia with a HD-100 using the beta firmware in PAL mode - It's just the best thing ever (well - excluding TD5 Defenders - but that's another vice).
If you have sage working now, get a HD-100, you will love it!
We gave away our Topfield PVR once we got our HD-100 and haven't looked back!
