DVD Playback problems on 6.4.5

Is anyone else seeing odd behavior with DVD playback in 6.4.5? when I play a DVD via one of the extenders (mediamvp or HD100 w/ latest beta) the show will play for an random amount of time then freeze up for several minutes. Eventually the movie will usually start again but much further into the movie (usually 45 minutes to an hour). If I then go and play the movie again, it will freeze at the same point.

When I play the same DVD on my Sage windows client it plays fine. I wasn't seeing these problems before I upgraded. Before I submit a ticket, is anyone else seeing this?

Nick

Have not seen that issue. Double check and make sure you have updated the firmware on the HD100 with the latest beta. (Not just the software on the server.) And make sure you have rebooted the server and all the devices. If you still see the issue you could try deleting the .properties file in the client directory and let the HD100 start fresh.

HD100 is def running the latest beta firmware. Rebooted all devices. I'll try the properties file trick, but as it is happening on my mediaMVPs too, I dont think thats where the problem lies.

Dont feel too bad, my unit does this as well and I am not running the beta.

DVD will stop playing after a FF-RW and then just hang, sometimes going to the root menu and choosing a chapter will fix it, sometimes it will start playing again on its own, but it can take 3-5 minutes to do this.

I am running the 6.3 version with the stock firmware.

I have reported this problem to Sage and another user has confirmed it is an issue even with the new version of software and firmware.

Hope this helps, but please let Sage now you issues as well as I would hate to see this not be caught in the new version!
