PVR-350 & PVR-250 in 1 machine
I know there was a problem when using a PVR-350 and PVR-250 in the same box when the versions were different (ver15 & 16). I think the image quality on one of the cards would be poor. I have been thinking about getting a PVR-350 for it's hardware decoder to output to my TV. Does anybody know if this has been rectified in version 2?

I'm not sure that it's something that can be rectified by client software. It's my understanding that the issue is either hardware or driver related.

I've gotten my 250 (16) and my 350 (15, of course) to both record in reasonable quality at one time! I switched from Win2k to XP, and reinstalled from scratch. I don't have tv-out working on it quite, but I was able to fiddle with stuff til the color bars showed up on screen at least.

Several of us, including me, have gotten a 350 and 250 to both work(TVout and OSD/UI) in the same machine. However given the posts I've seen around the board, I'd say that statistically(all be it a small sample) that your safest bet is to try to use type 15 PVR250s with your 350, if possible. My system use both 15s, a PVR350(15 of course) and a PVR250(15). My OS is WinXP, though I don't think this plays much of a role, as long as it's an NT type OS. The Windows NT based OS's just seem all around more stable for all software.IMO
Still there is no absolute gaurantee since every Windows based system has a large degree of variation. It's the price we pay for not being tied to one hardware manufacturer, who also supplies the OS. Hopefully once Sage is able to support the new MCE2004 based cards like the Avermedia M150 and presumably the ATI E-Home, we'll get some more usefull info. Since both of these cards are type 16 only. If it turns out that they can be mixed with the older type 15 PVR250/350's successfully then we can help narrow it down. Particularly if they work in the same systems where others were unable to mix 15 and 16 type cards. Time will tell.

I wound up getting a second PVR-250 (16) just to be safe. I'll just have to live with the TV out for a while longer.

In sage, I'm able to record with both cards, a -15 & a -16. tv-out is not working in sage, but it does work with wintv. I put the cards in the 700MHz celeron I started out with, but upgraded the box from win2k to winXP, and I'm happy with the improvement here. Previously with both cards in win2k wouldn't finish booting.
