No commercial skipping with valid .txt/.edl

Hey all,

I'm having trouble with SageMC commercial skipping. I've installed Comskip Monitor and it seems to be working correctly. It creates a valid .txt & .edl file (tested with MediaPortal) but SageMC is not showing the commercials in the progress bar. I've configured Comskip Monitor to do live processing but I don't see any commercial indicators on the progress bar whether watching live or after a recording is finished. Is there any setting I may have inadvertently set that could have disabled the commercial skipping abilities of SageMC?

I'm using the latest STV V6.4.6.180 on the server and client and SageMC 6.3.7a-fix on the client.

Any help would be appreciated!

Are you using UNC mapping?
Firewalls?


SageMC can only see the associated .txt/.edl files if your SageTV box and your Client PC are both Windows Based and you use UNC pathing:

1. In the OS, share the SageTV recordings directory (Share As...[share_name])
2. set up SageTV to use only a UNC path: Detailed Setup > General > Video Recording Directories... Modify: Add New Directory > Specify
\\{SageTV_maching_name}\{share_name}
then Use Current
3. Remove ANY Video Recording Directories that point to your C:

Conejo, thanks for your help. You were right, I figured it out when I found the thread here. Long story short, had to set Recording path using UNC instead of local path.
