Network advice - gigabit switch

Hi there,

Could somebody point me in the right direction here?

Theoretical system:

3 x PC's all with 10/100/1000 cards
1 x 10/100/1000 capable NAS external HDD
1 x 10/100/1000 network switch
1 x 10/100 Wireless router

If all the PC's and the NAS are connected to the gigabit switch, then the switch is connected to the router (to provide internet and DHCP) will the PC's share files from the NAS at gigabit speeds or does all the traffic still go though the router therefore slowing it down to 10/100 speeds?

Cheers

The only time the router will come into play will be when accessing the Interent. The switch will keep all the PC to PC/NAS traffic.

Or if for some reason you're routing traffic out and back in again. When I ssh into my server, I use my fqdn even if I am behind the firewall. Easier to type. The traffic goes out and back in.
