Will my current media center PC work for Sage TV?

Hello,
I'm considering going to Sage TV over my current MCE 2005 setup. I was wondering if my current specs will work with Sage TV for HD playback from HD Homeruns. Here is my current setup:
Mainboard : MSI K8 Neo4 (MS-7125); Chipset : nVidia nForce4; Processor : AMD Athlon 64 3200+ @ 2000 MHz; Physical Memory : 1024 MB (1 x 1024 DDR-SDRAM ); Video Card : Nvidia Corp GeForce 6200 TurboCache(TM); Hard Disk : ST3250620AS (250 GB)

It uses two dual tuner analog tuners to record my cable content. Is this setup good performance like it is and would it give me good performance with an HD Homerun?

Eventually I would probably move Sage TV to my Windows Home server and just use extenders but I was wanting to try it out on that PC first.

Thanks,
Chuck

You might have some playback issues, but it should otherwise be fine. That actually matches pretty closely to the specs I used to run before my last upgrade and switching to an extender.

If you are planning on getting an HD extender, then I wouldn't worry too much about any playback problems. They just go away with an extender.

Aloha,
Mike

Thanks for the input. I will probably test it out on my PC first and then maybe transfer it over to my Home Server. Then all that I would use would be the extenders for the playback.

You might run into problems trying to run VMR9 mode with that video card. I had to get a 7300GS to get that working on a similar setup. A 6200 was not enough. Still, you can run in overlay mode with no problems.
