Custom Folders

Is there any way that I can have some of my Favorites be filed into a specific folder in the UI? I'm specifically looking for a way to have my daughter's shows show up in a folder just for her so that she doesn't have to sift through all of the other recordings on the box. Also, along the same lines, is there a way to put Intelligent Recordings into a seperate folder in the same manner that Tivo puts Suggestions into a Suggestions folder?

Thanks,
Bill

This capability is not built in per se, but I have used a work around that helps. If you mark all of your daughter's shows as archived, you can use the display filters to switch to a view that just shows the archived programs. You can also set the Show All view to exclude archived programs (this is done in SageMC screen specific options for My TV in the Settings menu). The drawback is that archived shows will not be auto-deleted when space is needed, but you can manually manage them if you like. For me this isn't much of a problem since my kids want to watch the same episodes over and over anyway.

For intelligent recordings (IR), there actually is no distinct marker that flags them as IR recordings. They simply do not have a favorite or manual recording flag associated with them. As such, it is difficult to separate them. If you have programs from a favorite recorded and then cancel the favorite, the recordings will look to SageTV just as if they had been recorded via IR.

This might be a good feature request to have SageTV add an IR flag to their database.

Personally, I use the Intelligent Suggestions feature in SageMC. It shows a list of the programs IR would record if it were enabled. I prefer this as it helps keep the hard drives from being constantly thrashed.

Aloha,
Mike

Could this not also be done by moving the shows to a specific folder and they would then move from MyTV to MyVideos and then selecting on the "Kids Show" folder?

I know in the Default STV, in the Malore recordings screen, you can set up different display filters. I had one set that filtered by Genre - Children or somthing like that. This put all my daughters' shows in a seperate group. (I also had a Football filter, and an Unwatched filter.) I don't know if this feature is duplicated in SageMC though, as I have just switched to using it.
