NullPointerException importing dvd profiler info

When I try to import DVD info from DVD Profiler, it fails to work. I have tried both the automatic import and manually selecting the video and choosing Edit Video Info -> DVD Profiler Import. The information shows up, but when I try to import it, noting happens.

I turned on debug logging for sage and the only thing that came out was "Error updating DB file:java.lang.NullPointerException".

I'd like to try and track this problem down, but without a stack trace, I'm not sure where to start. My next step is going through the STV to see what I can find. I was hoping someone here would either have seen this before, or could give any hints as to where to look. For example, where is the code that parses the collection.xml file?

I am running the latest SageTV (service mode) version (6.4.8.184) and latest SageMC (6.3.7a-fix).

On the off chance that someone else has this problem, I resolved it by replacing the DVDPro2Sage class file with the multidisk version. I never did track down the actual problem, but it is gone now.
