I have a small problem with mine. it seems that most of the commercials are tagged correctly, but it skips about 5 seconds to soon on every commercial cutting off the show. Is there a way to set a delay in the ini file for this problem?

Set
padding=5
to remove 5 seconds from the start and the end of the commercial.

Thanks Erik... Perhaps there is a way to leverage the same switches that ccextractor currently accepts. I see from the site that the author (whose name escapes me at the moment) has a new version. Although if you are not simply calling ccextractor, and are instead leveraging the logic code, then that might not be a possibility.

Something that I did notcie when I got a successful run against an HDHR OTA Family Guy recording from FOX Chicago is that the timing is WAY off... In the SMI file you can see timestamp valuse similar to 45456789654456, instead of something like 17502... I can send the two smi files if you would like... and the HD Recording as well, if you like (5GB). just tell me where to put it.

Again, thanks for all your assistance!

Just uploaded build 80.003
Changes
- Increased the robustness of the h.264 decoder
- Increased the robustness of the CC extractor
- Removed the "_1" filename postfix for CC output files.

Well I gave 003 a try and it appears that the HEROs show I was comskipping did not crash this time! (remember it is an HDHR OTA Mpeg, not an HD-PVR H.264 file). The .smi file is a different story. I am attaching two files... one is teh .smi from the current ccextractor by itself, with certain command line switches set, and the other is from comskip 003.

Any thoughts on how to clean up the comskip file? Not the characters are messy in the comskip file, and the timing is way off.

THanks again though erik!

Are you sure it's not your HD that can't keep up?

You could try running ccextractor in idle priority.

Eckwell,

Could you send me your comskip.ini and a .csv file and a .data file generated when you run comskip with
output_framearray=1
output_data=1
so I can check the messy characters?

Just confirming that there's still no video frames detected using 80.003 on my NZ h.264 recordings. 1080i/AC3,AAC and 720p/AAC

Can you record in TS (file extension .ts) or only in PS (file extension .mpg) ?
I am having some difficulty to determine in a robust way the type of video encoding in a .mpg file.

SageTV is recording it as a PS (mpg). I know it's not usable for you, but the SageTV uses api GetMediaFileFormatDescription() to get the video format.

Also ffmpeg seems good at determining formats
ffmpeg.exe -i %input -t 1

You mean TS vs PS? Transport streams have a marker (0x47) every 188 bytes.

The default ini file included in the distribution zip file is a good start.
I compared scanning speed of 002 and 003 and they seem the same.
Will look further into performance.
