Importing previsously recorded show - no access to previous sagetv config

Hi,

I had to do a new install of SageTV a few weeks ago and I'm just starting to try to recover my previously recorded show. I still have them because they were on a files server. However, I don't have access anymore to the original sageTV config so the wiz file is gone. The documented process of importing back recorded show involved copying the original wiz file and modifying the advanced_video_file_recovery. I tried the attribute but... without the wiz it doesn't seems to work.

Is there any other way of reimporting back these shows in the SageTV/Recorded TV section?

To be listed in the Recordings section the file must be linked to an EPG airing entry in Wiz.bin. The file itself does not contain the airing info. If you've lost your Wiz.bin, you're going to have to reconstruct the EPG entry somehow in order to get the file back into the Recordings list. One way to do this is by typing the airing info in manually through the web server plugin. Another is to have a backup of the airing info in the form of an XML or .properties file that you can then re-import into Sage. There are a couple of different plugins (including the web server) that export and import such files, but if you haven't been using them so far, then obviously that's not an option for recovering your existing recordings (although it might be something to think about for the future).
