Is Donkey a SageTV employee or a user with some free time? It seems strange that he's the one posting the demux updates.

This file did a very good job of smoothing out playback from my HD-PVR's.

Far fewer seek issues and no more random little skips.

2.0.1.14 is a bust here. When I start to record, it starts having problems keeping up. Video hesitates and breaks-up. I get the spinning circle at times. System is in signature (recording being watched is HD and show being recorded is HD). 2.0.13 is working fine.

I also have the beta DShowCapture and TSSplitter installed.

Edit: I see that there's also a gap in the recording.

No luck. The timeline still freezes and the video hangs at the end of the program.

Strange results for me. I installed version 2.0.1.14 on my family room computer last night and found it working pretty well. The timeline did not freeze for live TV and skipping worked pretty well. I did have a couple of small video "glitches" where it looked like the video skipped a few frames to catch up with the audio. I was using FFDSHOW for audio and ArcSoft video watching an H.264 capture of Mythbusters from Discovery HD from Dish network.

This morning I tried it on my office PC and got the old live TV timeline freeze. I think the most obvious difference is that my office PC has an ATI 2600XT and my family room PC has an Nvidia 8600GT. However, another difference is that the family room PC is running and AMD dual core (5200+ I think) and my office PC is running an Intel Core 2 Duo E6750. And they are of course running different motherboards and chipsets, but both are running Vista Ultimate SP1. I tried both FFDSHOW and AC3Filter in the office and got the timeline freeze with both.

Donkey, are you testing against an Nvidia card?

Thanks,
Sean.

Here is a summary of my experiences with the different versions.

I run HP z565 Media center which has an NVidia Graphics card, you can google the model to get complete specs. I use two HD cable boxes with firewire for my sources.

first Beta, good video few if any stutters or breakups. My previous skipping problems which made comskip usless completely cured. One Big problem AV Sync very unpredictable would drift over time and sometimes just jump 100-200ms apart.

oct 8th Version crashed on every channel change ...unable to test other issues to protect WAF

Version 2.0.1.13
Crashes gone on channel change but continuous stuttering/hesitation on video.

Version 2.0.1.14
Less video stuttering but still significantly worse than your first attempt, AV sync seems better. however a new video quality problem was evident best described as pixelization and/or partial updating of the image (missing some p frames perhaps) this was limited to the lower portion of the screen (on the mad money program that uses a lot of lower third graphics which may explain the localization. Also crashed to desktop (killed sage with no error message box)

I am back to the original for now but hoping that the above will help target your efforts. This is Soooo close please keep up the good work, we all appreciate it.

I goofed. Version 2.0.1.14 DOES work the same way on my office PC as it does on my livingroom PC, i.e. Nvidia Vs. ATI doesn't matter. The live streams that DON'T work are those from my HDHomerun. Live streams from my R5000 modded Dish VIP211s work fine, both H.264 and Mpeg-2 streams.

Most recent works great playing hd-pvr recordings with PowerDVD 8 Video & Arcsoft Audio decoders. I haven't tried LiveTV yet.

Version properties on this file say it's 2.0.1.14 and when I compare it my local copy of that version, they're the same file...

You downloaded from an old link that has now been fixed. The above post & the first post of this topic both have the updated file now.

Video seeking issues

Does anyone have any problems like the following: when watching a video sometimes using the short FF or long FF options the video and audio will stop playing but the timeline continues to count down and I can stop and restart the video. Other times I will get the circle in the middle of the screen and the whole client becomes unresponsive.

thanks,

Aaron

Exactly the same thing here. I have gone back to the 2.0.1.13 beta release, as it has the highest GAF, although only the first beta allowed AAC audio using the Cyberlink PDVD 8 decoders.

Can someone post 2.0.1.13 and 2.0.1.14? The lat couple have been a bust for me, and I stupidly copied over my downloads of the earlier Demuxers.

Thanks

I went straight from the released version to the .16 and I am having a problem with jumping ahead or behind quickly. Spinning circle locks up SageMC. Other than that, it seems fine.

Same result with .16 here (I went directly to that since I'm a recent adopter of the PVR). It was really fun walking my wife through killing off the circle lockup using vnc.

I do see random times where it will just stop playing video but the timeline continues showing it's playing. Stopping and starting gets it back to playing but it's rather frustrating (for the wife).
