Beta lockups, Latency patch?

I have been experiencing my share of lockups using the Beta 2.0.12. I experienced them to some extent in 1.4 but the problem has gotten worse. It seems to be related to changing channels, especially if I switch between sources (tuner and s-video.) I am using an EPIA M1000 system with a PVR-350. I am using the OSD on the 350 and have software decoding disabled. I am using the latest drivers from SHSPVR. I was reading elsewhere on the forum about a latency patch for VIA chipsets. Is this patch necessary for EPIA systems? Anyone else using this configuration having this problem?
