Question Question for all Aussie users...

Hi all...
Located in Sydney, and recently some of my recordings are without sound...
This happens on any channel at random, but mostly on TEN.
Have any of you experienced this ?

I must mention that Media Portal does not suffer from this so it can't be a tuner problem.. Before anyone asks, i use Sage because of the extra functions that MP does not have, but what good is Sage to me if the recordings may or may not have sound...
The difference is that MP records in native .ts format, whilst Sage records in Mpeg format..

Anyone ??

Hi from Melbourne,

It may be the recordings have audio but the audio decoder isn't playing it back properly.
7HD and 10HD I think for example has AC3 audio, others MPEG2. Stupid australian channels have different audio streams which can cause problems if you dont have the right codecs. Sage just records the raw data like mediaportal so I reckon its the playback thats the problem. .ts streams and .mpeg2 can call upon different audio codecs.

Anyway, can you try playing the recordings outside of Sage in windows media player or VLC player for example, and see if that is good ?

Providing the recordings do have sound and its just Sage which isnt playing them back properly, then I would use AC3 filter as your decoder.
That will take take care of any AC3 audio issues.
