Why is Sage recording the same show on different tuners?

So I have a HDHR and two analog tuners. I've noticed that occasionally Sage will record the exact same show on each tuner. For example:
Code:
  Kitchen Nightmares
Favorite - First Runs and Reruns
  Airing: Sep 25, 2008 8:00 PM - 9:00 PM
  Duration: 60 m
  Channel: 213-WTTGDT
Description: Chef Gordon Ramsay tries to turn around restaurants in crisis.
  Category: Reality/Cooking - Rerun
Original Air Date: Wednesday, September 19, 2007
  Closed Captioned, Stereo
  Show ID: SH9324090000
  Starring: Gordon Ramsay [imdb]
Scheduled Encoder: Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner 1013C545-0
  Internal details: AiringID=8887225

  -----
  Kitchen Nightmares
Favorite - First Runs and Reruns
  Airing: Sep 25, 2008 8:00 PM - 9:00 PM
  Duration: 60 m
  Channel: 25-WTTG
Description: Chef Gordon Ramsay tries to turn around restaurants in crisis.
  Category: Reality/Cooking - Rerun
Original Air Date: Wednesday, September 19, 2007
  Closed Captioned, Stereo
  Show ID: SH9324090000
  Starring: Gordon Ramsay [imdb]
Scheduled Encoder: Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Capture
  Internal details: AiringID=8885166
Same Show ID, same time, different tuners.

Any thoughts?
Matt

Because it's a Show ID (SH####) not an Episode ID (EP#####), that means there's a single ID for all episodes of the show and Sage has no way to tell them apart.

OK, so this issue is specific to this show (& other shows that have a Show ID instead of an EP ID)?

Any ways to handle this? I guess I could force the favorite to record only on one channel, but that seems like the least ideal option (b/c it therefore limits me to two tuners, and there may be a conflict in the future that I don't notice).

Yup.

One way to handle it would be to disable that network on the analog tuner. That would force any recordings on that network to be recorded by the HDHR.

I see now that this may not be a problem after all.

The info above is for the 9/25/08 airings of this show (8 days away.) The info in my EPG for the 9/18/08 airing (tomorrow) is:
Code:
Show ID: EP9324090014
so it looks like the EPG might just have "dummy" data in it until the actual episode information is published at some point between 1 and 8 days prior to airing.

Perhaps this is one of the reasons why the default recording lookahead is only 3 days.

I'll watch this and see when it (hopefully) changes from a SH ID to an EP ID.

For more info about the ShowID situation that Stanger mentioned see this FAQ:
Does SageTV know enough to record a show only once? I see that one of my favorites is scheduled to air 3 times this week -- How many of those will be recorded?

The info is in the "Recording Schedule" section of the PDF manual too.

And you can try setting the Detailed Setup -> Customize -> Detect repeat airings with non-unique IDs option to Yes, but that won't guarantee that SageTV will be able to tell the shows apart.

To close out my own thread; it's now 7 days away, and the EPG guide correctly shows an EP ID (and, as Stanger correctly reported, it's only set to record on one tuner.)
