Conflict Resolution with 2 tuners

I have two tuners. If they are both being used/scheduled and I try to start/watch/schedule a third recording, I get the conflict resolution screen. But, it only gives me one choice to override. How can I override the OTHER tuner (or 3rd or 4th if I have more tuners)?

There might be a better way to do it, but if you install nielm's "Multi-function stop" plug-in (super simple), you could just go to the recording you want to switch and stop it manually... then start watching what you want to watch...

1. Stopping a recording should be in the basic software, not an add-on.
2. Will only work for a currently recording program. Won't work for a future conflict.

You can manage future conflicts through the conflict resolution screen, which lets you choose which program to record and which one to cancel.

It seems to me that it only gives you two choices when, with two equivalent tuners, there should be at least 3 choices of which one NOT to record.

If you tell Sage not to record one show, doesn't it give you a new conflict resolution alert for the second tuner? Its been awhile since I had this problem, but I am pretty sure that is how it worked at my parents house last time I was there and I tried to watch something and they had 2 recordings going (they also have only 2 sd). So when I told sage not to cancel one recording, it then gave me another alert as to whether I would like to cancel the other recording....

The problem is that it offered me a choice of the two shows I wanted to record, not the one I wanted to cancel.

When I try to schedule N+1 simultaneous recordings with N tuners (using the stock UI), I get a pop-up dialog with N+1 choices, one of which is "Do nothing", i.e. don't schedule the N+1st recording. The other N choices let me choose which of the N already scheduled recordings to cancel.

Are you saying you're seeing something different? If so, maybe you could post a screenshot of the message you're getting, and outline the steps you took to get it.

If you've set tuner merits, I believe the conflict dialog will appear for the highest tuner's recording first & continue down the merit list until the conflict is resolved or no more tuners/recordings can be checked. I'm not sure how another client viewing live TV might affect it, but one client can't cancel another's live TV.

The problem isn't with manually scheduled programs, but with Favorites and other programs that SageTV wants to add to my recording schedule. All of a sudden I have too many programs at a certain time and when I click on conflict resolution, it says things like 'always ignore conflict' (not sure what that will result in) and 'always record A' (but not 'B' or 'C'). If 'A' isn't the one I always want (and it usually isn't), I'm not sure what to do.
