demo problem: jerky video

hard to describe... the video "hangs" for .1s every .6s

Hauppauge PVR 250 app runs fine, including the recording.

Have you tried using a different Video Decoder? You can access them under Setup > Detailed Setup > Video.

Wink

I had the same problem at first and Dan is right you need to select a better mpeg2 decoder under the setup menu. I installed a few different ones and the best and easist solution I found was to install PowerDVD since it came with my DVD drive and use thier decoder.

nope

I have a cyberlink decoder listed and an intervideo non-css for hauppauge. There is no picture at all for the first one and the latter one gives me the problem indicated above.

Edit: I switched from xp video mixing renderer to overlay and now both codecs work and both are jerky.

Can somebody point me to a dvd decoder software that works? Please include the version number. Thanks.

I installed version 4.0 of cyberlink Power DVD. Uninstall PowerDVD and then reinstall. See if that works.
