use itunes to play m4p music (like media portal)

Hi all,

I just had my 6 monthly (or so) look over at what is going on in Media Portal world.

Having installed the latest version to have a play, I found that it had an ability that I have been longing for for ever.

Media portal can (kinda') play m4p music that I have downloaded using iTunes. It does it by kicking in iTunes in the background and using it to play the music.

To be fair - it is a little clunky, but the fact that It can almost play these m4p things from within the UI is great.

Now then, onto the pleading request!

I have no coding knowledge whatsoever, so, is there anyone that can make this same functionality happen in Sage?

I'm sure it can't be that hard to do if the Media Portal guys have done it

Am I to understand that absolutely no one wants this kind of functionality. I can't believe that no one on this forum (or the 80 that have read this post) use iTunes to download music!

You are definitely not the only one who would like to see this as an option. I missed your original post or I probably would have commented then.

It would take either SageTV integrating a feature like this in their core product or a plugin developer taking the time to add it. I'm all for it if someone wants to do it for us.
