Reprogramming IR codes for SKY box

I'm trying to set my SageTV system up for use with a SKY box. I'm having trouble setting my USBUIRT up to control the SKY box. I have tried a number of SKY.ir files but none work correctly. I have tried reporgramming the IR code but after selecting a button the system just hangs even thought the USBUIRT seems to be responding. I have read on at least 2 threads that this can happen if you are in Service mode but I'm not sure how to disable service mode. I have tried Disabling Service from the Sage TV Service control app. I have tried disabling the Server feature but the system just hangs each time I try to reprogram a key. Please can someone help me get over the hurdle.

Can no one help. There must be other people that use with SAGE SKY in the UK. If I'm being stupid or you need more info please tell mw cause am strugling to get anywhere on my own.

Use the Sage service control panel applet and disable the sage service and then stop it. you should then be able to start Sage using the icon and reprogram from there.

Digiboxes and Sky+ boxes use different codes, so you have to get the right ones for which ever box your using.
