Sage and SDV

It appears as if my cable co, Rogers, will soon have some channels available via SDV (switched digital video). Apparently this will be transparent to the user and will work with our existing cable boxes such as the SA3250HD, SA4250HD, etc.

Does anyone have experience in using Sage with SDV?

According to one user the cable system puts up a warning mesage on your screen after a certain period of time to ensure that you are still watching the channel (it doesn't wanting to be wasting bandwidth I guess). If you don't respond then it shuts down the signal. I am worried that this could affect SageTV - but assuming that this timeout was longer than 3-4 hours and that Sage changes channels at the start of every recording, even when it doesn't have to, then I should be okay.

I just wanted to verify - does Sage always send a channel change at the beginning of a recording (when the source is using a STB) even if the recording is on the same channel as the previous recording on that source?

You have the option to set "Always Re-Tune Channel" or not.
