VideoReDo has started testing HD-PVR files

DanR over at VDR has stated that they just setup the HD-PVR for edit testing...

Awesome - although if editing a file requires reencoding then I think I can shut my furnace off for the winter - and I live in Canada!

This will be awesome when they officially support it. Videoredo has been an awesome tool and well worth the money and then some.

Have they said what the cost will be? Will this be a new program or just an update to the old?

they have not said. But this is one program I don't mind supporting. If they want an upgrade fee, I will pay it. Its one of the reasons I paid for TV Suite. I wasn't sure I would use it, but the overall product is so great and continues to improve, I have no problem giving them money. I want them to continue to develop the product, if paying some money every once in awhile, that is fine with me.
