Connecting to SMB Servers with Extender HD200: invalid directory

Just received my HD200 and I gotta say 'Guest/no password' is ridiculous. I have to trust in my firewall, wifi security only? Truely unreasonable. Perhaps I need to go through the effort of getting NFS going instead.

However, for those still fighting against the "Invalid Folder"...

Remember, there are two levels of security for a Windows share. The Share level security, and the NTFS security. Guest needs to have read at both levels. Enabling the guest account got the shares listed. But I couldn't browse them until I had added "read/list folder contents" permissions for Guest at the NTFS level.

If your hard drive is formatted to FAT32, you probably won't see this issue because FAT32 doesn't have any security.

I have every one of my shares set with user security and passwords required (no guest access) and I don't have any trouble beyond having to enter a user/pass when I browse.
