6.5.2 video not able to render and 6.5.3 VMR9 fix

i very briefly installed 6.5.2 last weekend and video would error out every time in VMR9 but would work if i used overlay. that obviously wasn't acceptable so i dropped back down to 6.4

am i right in assuming that VMR9 was broken in 6.5.2 and fixed in 6.5.3? (running xp sp2 with an old geforce 6600 to spit out video)

VMR 9 was NOT broken in 6.5.2, I've used it, so there might be some other problem on your side. And anyways it won't harm to upgrade to 6.5.3 to see for yourself

It was broken. From the release notes:
Quote:
1. Fixed bug where VMR9 wasn't being used if the system didn't support EVR

Well I'm using Vista so don't know that.
Anyways I thought that meant that when you installed it then instead of using VMR9 in XP it didn't until you selected it in the setup. So maybe I'm mistaken.
