Youtube Rss Feeds in Online Services

When searching Youtube, it is only searching tags via Youtube's outdated rss feed generator (http://www.youtube.com/rss/tag/search%20term.rss) and as it only searches tags and not titles, it does not return the same search results that you'd get by searching Youtube.com.

Youtube has an updated rss feed generator that allows for full-text searches:

http://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/base/...=search&20term

I'd much rather see this as the default implementation in the OnlineVideoLinks.properties rather than searching via tags...but I'm not smart enough to do it myself...

It's just frustrating when you search Youtube from their site and you get really good results, then you go into SageTV and you get zilch. There are two solutions...but this one doesn't involve holding all Youtube content creators at gunpoint, telling them to properly tag their videos.

The new feed system you referenced does not use a format that SageTV can use at this time.

I played around with this feed.. it does seem to give better results on the searches of interest to me. However, it also seems to return a very small result set. Is a change to how YouTube is searched in the works?

The YouTube search is one of my favorite features of Sage, I hope this is not the limit to what can be done and a more robust client is in the works..
