unfortunately, I just tried this beta and still get invalid directory as soon as I try to browse network.

I've sent a fairly voluminous report to beta TS.

Thanks

(for the two users we went in depth with on this one; this fix resolves the problem though...it may resolve it for everyone who has Invalid Directory issues...we'll have to see)

The fix does apply across a wide range of things related to this though; so even if it was at the workgroup/server/share level this could very well fix the problem. And even if you could browse; but not play; again this may fix the problem.

You should submit an issue to support. I thought I had that issue earlier and Jeff said they hadn't seen that, unfortunately for you, my problem was just that the file was actually gone.

FIXED: D-Link DNS-323 NAS

FIXED

I had previously submitted a bug report re: indexing mkv's on my D-Link DNS-323 NAS. In standalone mode, I was able to directly play movies but could not get the HD-200 to index the films. Thanks to SageTV for its excellent & rapid support.

After renaming the NAS movies directory from "~Movies" to "movies", I now can index the films! I'm not sure if the tilde (~) or the capitol "M" was the problem (neither should have been?), but it works now.

For any of you encountering problems, consider simplifying path names and then test. Also, make liberal use of a hard reset on the HD-200, as this seemed to finally get it to 'kick in' and index correctly.

One final note: I also tested w/ a username/pw on the DNS, carefully entered (and re-entered a few times) on the HD-200 and could not get it to connect to the share (yes, I pressed the pause key to get to lowercase as necessary). Ultimately, I had to disable security for the 'movies' share.

Moral of the story, keep it simple. Good luck.
