Sage Wont Change Channels using Hauppauge 1600

I have time warner and the Hauppauge Wintv-HVR 1600, on the screen ( tv or computer monitor ) it acts like it is changing the tv channel but it only stays on one channel no matter what I seem to try and I have tried for hours!

Suggestions please!!

Thanks

How is the tuner hooked up? Is it connected directly to the cable, or is it connected to the output from a converter box? If using a box, you'll need some way for SageTV to tell the box to change channels, such as the USB-UIRT to send the IR codes or maybe firewire channel changing.

I started with just cable directly into the video card to start to try and keep things simple, no cable box involved...

In that case, the card should be doing the tuning. I don't have a 1600, so I won't try to offer suggestions for that card, but there is a sticky tuner configuration tip topic that has a link to setting up the 1600 for QAM. see if that helps.

Which tuner in the 1600 are you trying to set up, the analog or the digital?

Have you verified the cable line is connected to the correct input in the back?

Did the channel scan find all of your channels properly?
