Hardware acceleration

Ok, This is kinda a dumb question I realize.

How do I know if a computer I have should be capable of hardware accelleration in sage?

I have an old Dell Lattitude C840 Geforce4 440 go, That I don't know crap about.

But from what little I have seen it should make a good client.

Turn on hardware acceleration and see what happens. If it's working, your CPU usage should drop. If you see any unacceptable video artifacts, turn it back off.

For what it's worth, I've used hardware acceleration without issues on my GeForce4 4200 Go laptop.

Ok, Strange, I tried it again, the cpu usage dropped from 20-30% to 1 to 6% usage and everything worked, no orange picture, no blurred menus, etc..

Very strange...

**Edit strike that, after watching it, It seems to work with it enabled, but the CPU usage is actually higher, 60 to 70% for sd tv. SO I guess I willl go with it disabled.
