Unable to set quaility to anything higher than DVD standard

I have 2 fusion HD tuners, HD-pvr and a nvidia dual tuner in my system. I'm running the latest beta. When I go to set the recording quaility. I can only set the 2 Hd tuners to DVD standard or lower. But the anolag dual tuners can go to Best-H.264 just like the Hd-PVR. How can I set the 2 HD tuners higher than DVD standard.

I'd actually like to set them for "Not set" then set the default quaility to Best-H.264. But I cannot choose "Not set" on the 2 Hd tuners.

Any thoughts?

Standard HD tuners (such as the fusion series) actually can not be adjusted for quality. I know there is a setting within Sage, but it actually doesn't do anything. The reason is standard hd tuners don't encode the video. They capture the digital streams as is. Your HDPVR and nvidia dual tuner take an analog signal and encode it into a digital format and that is why you can change the bitrate.

HD tuners use the digital stream and records that directly at its full resolution. There is no quality to set for HD digital tuners. HDPVR is different because it transcodes it to h.264 in real time and you're able to set the quality.
