Free editor for my HDPVR recordings?

Hello,

I need to cut the beginning and the end of my recordings without re-encoding, is this possible for free?

I thought the software that came with the HD PVR included a program for doing video editing?

If so, I can't figure it out. TME lets you do dvd editing but I'll try to see if it lets me just do the video.

if you just want to trim the begining and end of your video, Sage will do that for you.

everything you need is in the "Convert" menu in the Advanced menu view of your recorded programs. You can specify the output file format, and the postion to start from in the original file and the length of the video stream to covert.

This might be true but the OP doesn't want to "convert", but rather a way to do this and still retain the exact same format without re-encoding and loss of quality.

I've had success converting HDPVR files to Xvid with MediaCoder. Mediacoder does have the ability to trim without reencoding, but I haven't tried it with these files. It is definitely worth a shot.
