Thanks, works perfectly

./mplayer -identify -activefile /tmp/stvbuff46835.dat -osdlevel 0 -autosync 5 -noconsolecontrols -mc 1 -slave - stream-buffer-size 8192 -colorkey 0x80010 -vo xw:windowevents=0:ck=set -cache-seek-min 0 -framedrop -ao also:device=hw -cache 128 -wid 67108917 -nokeepaspect -vf pp7 -demuxer 2

Odd thing is it works fine when I do this..I see see all of the video without a problem. So that indicates its just a problem when java calls mplayer?

I can confirm on a new build of Ubuntu only Placeshifter 6.4.8 works. Sure would be nice to have the latest version.

Oi! Should I be using the sagetv-server_6.4.8 as well? The client is having some trouble...

Does anyone know if progress has been made on a fix for 6.5.9? It has all gone a bit quiet.

Hmmm...I dunno... I'm a little confused. I was under the impression that we're to use 6.4.8 but I saw another posting which suggested we should send in bug reports for the current version.
Is 6.5.9 supposed to work on Ubuntu?

Oh I see Totem is the default player on Ubuntu:

Hmmm... No word on this eh? All the videos play fine any player but they don't display or play in SageTV Client. Only a black screen.
Hmmm....

Same problem with the 6.5 client. Im trying to set Sage up on 64 bit Ubuntu so the .i386.deb will not work for me and I haven't yet found the tar file. Would love to see a fix also....

I had problem with placeshifter 6.5.12 on CentOS. After I saw this thread when my extender died and i searched for backup solution I have downgraded to 6.4.8 and most of my videos started playing. For few of them I do get PlaybackException.

This appears to be the only viable solution? To downgrade?

The latest beta release v6.5.16 lists:

Linux Updates
...
3. Fixed bug where XV playback didn't work in the Linux placeshifter (pending fix)

I'm at work so can't test it out just yet, but I'll definitely be giving it a go when I get home. Anyone else tried it yet?

Oh. Sorry. Just went to try this and it seems that the "pending fix" bit means that the linux placeshifter isn't available for download yet. Oh well, the wait continues.
