Slow-video issue when placeshifting 1080i H.264

Running 6.5.4 beta, with the multithreading in the "default" setting of 0 (which should be cores+1, right?) I'm using H.264 TS files from an R5000 on a Dish Network VIP211. Standard Def recordings seem to work fine, as do 720p recordings. 1080i is awful.

Looks like the 1080i video is playing back super-slow, but the audio is playing back at regular speed. The video looks fine, it's just running at slide-show like speeds.

I've tried disabling post-processing on the client, and I've tried three different PCs on both LAN and Internet connections. The LAN one is a Quad-Core Q6600 w/ an Intel G31 graphics card with Vista. The other two were XP and not nearly as capable processors. The symptoms are identical on all three.

Any ideas?

From what you are describing it seems like it is not transcoding the video at all, just sending it straight across. Have you submitted a bug report on this?

I get the same exact problem. Hardware on both client and server are top of the line and run on a gigabit network. Like you were saying audio comes in perfect but video is like a slide show.

That is the same issue I have with my MVP's... There was a post earlier about that, Sage had fixed playing 720 on the MVP and placeshifter, but said they were still working on an issue with 1080.

Thanks,
Jeff

I thought mine was doing that b/c I hadn't upgraded to the latest 6.5.5. I had that problem with 6.4.x and I think I had the same problem with 6.5.3 though I didn't play around with it much. I'm so afraid of my wife complaining if something goes wrong (and since the holidays are always a bit too busy for me to spend the time troubleshooting) that I was waiting for the 6.5 release.
