attempting to restore connection to Sage server?

When I restart SageTV.exe on my server, SageTVClient.exe says that it has lost the connection to the server and is attempting to reconnect....

.... but it never seems to reconnect.

Has anybody seen the reconnect feature work?

I haven't had any luck getting the client to reconnect. I don't know if there is a wait time or not, but it is faster to just restart the client. You may want to report this a a bug.

I don't seem to have a problem having the client reconnect, but then I think I've been restarting the server while the client was sleeping. Maybe next time I'll be sure to leave the client open & see what happens.

How do you make the server or client sleep? I just leave them up all the time and on the server I minimize the window. But anyway..

I think I've seen the client reconnect once but normally I just restart it on my own.

There is a "Power" comamnd, usually ctrl+z, to put SageV to sleep, or you can click on the X in the upper right corner if you have SageTV set to sleep when you exit. To do that, exit SageTV and then edit this line in the properties file:

sleep_on_close=true

(You have to exit before editing this file, or the changes will get overwritten when Sage does exit.)
