Thanks Sage: FLAC finally works
Over last year I had issues with several of my albums backed up as FLAC files that were crashing HD Extender (green screen) most likely due to the embedded images. Last night I have upgraded to 6.5.6 RC and latest beta firmware and all of my albums play just fine, no crash encountered, all images shows, great job Sage!

Glad it works for you, but I'm still having issues. My HD100 & HD200 will get confused and eventually lock up during flac playback. They get immediately "confused" if I try to fast forward or rewind within a song.
Just sent some samples to support. The Sage folks are pretty sharp, I assume it's just a matter of time before they figure out what's going on. |

I have to also take it back and say it mostly works. Some of the albums that previously didnt work started working but now I found few others which always cause green screen on HD100. I have also sent samples and logs to Sage especially now when I can reproduce it consistently.

I just installed the HD200 Friday and I am in the process of getting my entire music library converted to FLAC. I have been messing around with it quite a bit and have had no crashes. This is my first experience with media centers and I am really enjoying the flexibility.
Before seeing this post, I submitted a bug report for the FF. Smooth FF did nothing and Skip Forward would hang at times. I was running version 6.5.6 at the time. I just installed 6.5.7 an hour ago. Athough there is about a 6 second delay, I do not get the same hang up as I was getting before with the Skip Forward. However, the Skip Back/Rew skips FORWARD to the next song. The smooth FF and REW do nothing for me yet. The Next Song and Previous Song screen icons work as the remote control buttons should work. |

I did some experimenting and the issue is in my case definitely related to embedded images. I have removed the images from all four albums I have problem with and just left the folder.jpg and I have not encountered the green screen yet. So it seems like whatever fix they did in the 6.5.x release was not sufficient.
Andy: Could you please change the name of this thread to: FLAC is still having issues Thank you
