HD200 Photo Formats in Standalone Mode

Can anyone confirm whether the HD200 can view BMP, TIF, or RAW photo files in standalone mode? The manual says only JPEG, PNG, and GIF. Surely that's not correct???

I don't have any .raw, but the only choices I have in standalone mode for the HD-200 are "Delete..." and "Close" for the following formats: .bmp .tif .cgm and .ged

Thanks for checking. I wonder if this is something they could "fix" with a firmware update? Seems like a pretty standard thing for anyone using it as a standalone. It's pretty minor to people like me who use it as an extender though.

A while ago I sent request to Sage if they could support other formats (e.g. tif) at least through transcoding on the fly. Never got a response. From technical aspect it would be fairly easy since imagemagick has the required support and is available on all platforms and even has Java interface via JMagick.

Would be nice if they support RAW formats (ie .nef = nikon raw format).

I submitted a support request today. It seems like a no-brainer to add it so imo just a matter of time before they take the time to include this in a firmware update.

This came up as I am finishing my review I'll be posting on GeekTonic. Reviewing the HD200 as an extender was pretty easy. Reviewing it as a standalone is a bit more difficult and will require me to be a bit harder on them. I think the HD200 could be superior to the competition even in stadalone mode, but it's going to take some more work on SageTV's part to get it there imo.
