Multiple tuners / CATV / Baby Monitor

Ok, here goes...

I have Sage TV running on my theater PC with 3 tuner cards in it. I want to make 1 of the tuner cards dedicated for a video baby monitor. I am going to feed one of the tuner cards with a coax signal and I can modulate the monitor onto any channel I like (65-94 or 100-125). The other two cards, I just want to use to capture CATV channels. I see that if i set all three cards up to my current CATV provider, all three channel blocks are married together. That means that I can't add or subtract a single channel from a single card. If i removed a channel from one or two cards, it removes that channel from all three of the cards.

So, lets say I want to make capture card #3 have the dedicated baby monitor signal on Channel 107 (and ONLY be used for that, no other purpose) and have tuner cards #1 & #2 just work normally with my CATV system. Do I have remove capture card #3 and readd it using a different video source or CATV provider? I don't want card #3's channels to be married to the other two cards.

I would think that I could just remove all channels on card #3, then simply add only channel 107 back, remove channel 107 on the two other cards, but like i said, it doesn't work that way. All cards that point to the same CATV provider cannot have channels removed on a 'per card' basis. Removing channel 107 from Cards 1 & 2 will remove channel 107 from card #3 as well.

Why modulate just plug it into an open port and be done with it?

Me personally I took the other view and ran the signal to all tuner cards, somewhat like a matrix any encoder can capture from either my CCTV Quad or CCTV Mux depending on if you use composite or composite_2.

The same could be done with a modulator but it sounds as though you specifically don't want that functionality but do what the modulator.

I need to do it the way I originally stated.

1. I already have a modulator and I'm sending the signal a few thousand feet over coax.

2. I dont want the signal back-bleeding into my CATV network becuase of privacy and the fact that the modulator steps on 3 channels. It steps on the channel you pick (107) and one above (108) and one below (106). My cable company has digital and HD channels inbetween.

So, assuming I've already looked at all of my options, and need some advice on how I can set SageTV up to work with 2 tuners for my CATV and one tuner dedicated (and separated) for internal home channel 107, can you help out?

Set it up with a different line up, not one "married: with another tuner, also are you running the latest version/s of Sage, they solved this problem a while back and you can run different channel line-ups per tuner instead of per line-up....

Great, thanks!

That narrows me down to two choices, both of which should work just fine...

1. Add it with a different line up and I dont have to upgrade (currently running 6.2)

2. Upgrade SageTV to new(er) build, Remove channel 107 from cards 1&2 and remove all channels except 107 from card 3.

You don't need to upgrade in any case, it works the same as long as I have been using SageTV.

You actually want to say no programming data, and since you must have modulation use the tuner on the card to tune cable tv.
