Upgrade to 6.5.8 and streaming issues.

I've been a loyal SageTV addict for about two years now after about ten years as a TIVO junkie. I've came on board with Sage around rev. 6.4.x (I think).
I was motivated by the open architecture of the system and the HD capabilities.
I run my main server with two ATSC capture cards for FTA and one NTSC capture card for cable.
I've purchased two server licenses for Windows and Linux, a Placeshifter license and a HD200. All work very well as of rev. 6.5.7.

That is until rev. 6.5.8.

After installing 6.5.8 I immediately encountered problems with streaming to my HD200. I notified Sage with a bug report and requested roll-back information to restore 6.5.7.

If any Sage Technicians read this I've since learned how to roll-back to a previous version so I no longer need that info. And yes rolling-back corrected the problem so 6.5.8 is the culprit.

I want everybody to know that I've been a computer systems integrator for 15+ years now and I think that these products from Sage are excellent. I am very impressed with the HD200.

Keep up the good work.

Could you submit a bug report on this please? There's some tests I'd like you to run so we can determine what caused this.

Thanks!

Placeshifter streaming issue

Not sure if its related, but I am unable to use Placeshifter on my network anymore(IE no transcoding) . Switching transcoding on works, but of course... no HD now. My HD200 seems fine w/ the new version.

Roll-Back in Windows

Version 6.5.8 backed up the "sage.properties" and the "wiz.bin" from version 6.5.7 and appended the version number to them. All I did was copy the backups to a new folder (ie:c:\z) and rename them back to their original names, uninstalled 6.5.8, rebooted but did not delete any files or directories and then reinstalled 6.5.7. After, I copied the c:\z\wiz.bin and sage.properties back to where they came from.

I didn't even bother with renaming or copying wiz.bin

Having what I think is the same issue described here I opted to rollback to 6.5.7.

I didn't want to loose any history from the last few days, so I tried the reinstall of 6.5.7 over 6.5.8 and it worked for me. I got Sage up and running with no problems that I've found so far.

I will be checking it more this evening to see if any problems arise.

rollback 6.5.8 to 6.5.7

I tried 6.5.8 briefly but I found my mpv works better with 6.5.7, so I rolled back... just like the earlier post. I reinstalled 6.5.7 on top of 6.5.8 and that worked.

I have an HD-PVR, rev C. In some recordings, like Burn Notice, the lip sync seems off at times. In House and 24 recordings, I sometimes get a very unusual effect that looks like I'm seeing 1/4 of the image which is blown up to the whole size of the screen. This usually stops when the scene or camera shot changes, so it's not as distracting as it sounds. I have my cable box set to 720p. I find that helps a lot with trying to get the mpv to work.

I think it was the jump from 6.5.5 to 6.5.7 that the playback controls got a lot more responsive... bravo.

I'm a SageTV fan. I can't wait for official 6.5 to be completed.

Thanks.

FYI, the change that caused the issue talked about by the OP was fixed for the V6.5.9 release we put out today.
