External Control of HD-extender?

Doese anyone know of a way of controlling a sage extender from an external app? I thought there was a list of API commands somewhere, but can that be used to control an extender? I am currently using the web interface(customized) but it is limited in it's use. It's seems IR control is still this only way.

Are you looking for a ready-made app that works like a remote control? If so, this may be what you want.

Or are you looking to write an app that can control an extender remotely? There's a set of remote API wrappers that can do that (and a lot more).

Thanks Greg, actually both will do just fine. I kind of reinvented the wheel based on the plugin, but I could not find the API. I am trying to gracefully control SageTv from HomeSeer, So I guess I will be writing something as the interface.

you should PM beelzerob & fonceur. Beelzerob wrote the SageCQC.jar file to control the extender from within CQC, then he&fonceur evolved that to a more generic SageTCP.jar approach for MainLobby/CQC. I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to leverage that for HomeSeer.
