HD100 Firmware issue

Is there a reason why one of my HD100 extenders (first run hardware) does not "see" the latest extender firmware? It only "sees" the August 2008 firmware. I have to enter "beta" to get the December 2008 firmware.

My other two HD100 (third run hardware) do not have this issue.

Thoughts?

See the HD100 updates notification topic at the top of this forum. The August 2008 firmware is the release version. The Dec 2008 firmware is beta; that's why you have to enter the beta code for the HD100 to see it. All of your HD100s should operate that way.

My HD100 in the main room told me to update after the 6.5.9 upgrade and it updated to the January 2009 version.

I went from 6.4.8 to 6.5.9 directly on the server.

OK, now I'm a little confused as to what is happening... there is no 2009 firmware that I'm aware of for the HD100 & I just looked on the downloads site to see if I had missed something.

What does the screen say about some sort of update?

While the HD100 is connected to your server, go to the System Information screen (use the Info command while on the Main Menu) and see what it says is the firmware version number.

Ok now I am confused.

The system info screen states 200808xx

Last night there was a pop-up window on the main menu (i.e. Sage Main Menu) after I upgraded to 6.5.9. It said something to the effect there is a new firmware available, and the options were "update", "remind me later".

I swore it said 2009xxyy, which is why I choose "update" and it went through the upgrade process (something that is quite quite slow btw).

I know all of my extenders were on the "production" release.

But now it says 200808xx.

Continuing the confusion...

Are you using the default STV?

There is a recommended firmware check on the Main Menu, but the STV is currently hardcoded with the "20080812 0" firmware version number for the HD100. If that is the dialog you saw, I don't know how it could have said 2009. Also, the options are "Remind me again later" and "Don't show this message again", so if you are sure it offered to update something, then that isn't the dialog because it is incapable of updating right then.

At this point, I would need more details of what happened to try to figure it out. Maybe a picture of the screen if you see it again?
