SageTV Menu not always displaying
I am currently having issues with the SageTV menus
If I go 2 levels deep it will only display the highlighted option. When I am 3 levels deep it would not display any options at all. At times if I have a pop up window up and close it it will leave a trail of the window. Setup: WinXp SageTV 6.5 p4 3.06GHz HT 1Gb RAM I have tried the following to resolve this issue. 1. sage.properties ui/acceleration=false This makes menu navigation extremely slow 2. Turn off 3D acceleration This causes my CPU to spike. Both the the above solutions resolved my issue with negative impact. Has anyone ran into this issue or have any advice? |

might be an idea to post your graphics card details too, sounds like it might be relevant

I'm not an expert on graphics cards but from the quick bit of research I just did I would guess that you will struggle getting decent 3d accelerated performance out of this card in Sage.
Your problem is much like one I had on an old client with a low spec graphics card, turning off 3d results in perfect operation, just not so pretty. This is what made me look closer at the thread in the first place. You are probably fighting a losing battle unless someone else with a miracle cure takes an interest in the thread. |

Thanks for the response....Do you have any recommendation for a graphics card?

I guess that would depend on format, budget and display resolution.
This much I can tell you, I have used an AGP Radeon 9550 with 3d and 720p without issue. I have also used a PCIe nvidia 8400gs in the same way, I did test this one on 1080i aswell, but I prefered it on 720p as it was a tad sharper. These are probably the lower level starting point, and from there the sky is your limit. There is lots of information in the forums on which graphics cards are good and bad and it is well worth researching if you plan to change as results appear variable dependant on source and display. |
