No HDMI audio

Hi,

When running /usr/bin/mplayer off the command line with the proper 'ao' option, I can get video and audio thru an HDMI connection.

When using Placeshifter, I get video but no audio.
My assumption is that Placeshifter uses the mplayer executable in my /opt/sagetv/client directory

How do I tell Placeshifter to use alsa device 0.3 for it's audio playback ?

Thanks

Modify the .mplayer/config file to point to the correct ao entry. (ao=...).

It's working now ...

That's just it ...

I had my .mplayer/config file setup correctly.
Running mplayer from /usr/bin or running mplayer from the sage client directory
off the command line produced audio and video

Once I got into Placeshifter, I had video but still no audio.
Just does not make sense.

Did some more Googling and came across a setting in alsa.conf
named defaults.pcm.device Once I changed that to match my card/device ( aplay -l ) ,
only then did I start getting sound in Placeshifter.

Thanks

Have you turned on logging? (in the sageclient.sh file).

Look at the miniclient.log file for any errors relating to audio. Perhaps you are missing a dependency that Sage needs but you don't need for mplayer directly.

Do you have mad audio installed on your system?
