How to get EPG data when getting channels from 2 different regions?

Hi,

I couldn't find this answered anywhere else, so I'm asking here.. I have SageTV setup with an HDHR, one tuner I use to pickup QAM channels over cable, the other tuner i use for ATSC OTA. I live in Oakville, Ontario, so I'm able to pickup channels from both the CN Tower (canadian channels) and channels from Buffalo.

When i set up the tuner, you can only choose 1 location for your EPG, so I choose buffalo. Is there any way I can get the guide data for the canadian channels? The channels are all duplicated on the tuner that picks up the QAM channels, so is there a way to remap the ATSC channels with no guide data to a specific QAM channel to copy it's guide?

Thanks,
Mike

You already have both lineups for the two sources in use, one for each tuner? If so, you can manually add channels and/or remap the station for a channel to be the station you want it to be.

Or, is each tuner configured to get data for only 1 location? If the stations you want are not already part of some lineup on your system, then you could manually add stations using the station ID number for its link on the Zap2it site's listing for the lineup.

Here's exactly what I have:

Tuner 0: QAM - EPG Lineup Cogeco Cable Digital - Oakville
Tuner 1: ATSC - EPG Lineup - Buffalo - Digital Broadcast

Some of the channels on Tuner 1 are Canadian and do not have guide data in the buffalo lineup, but the data for them exists in the lineup for tuner 0.

So for example, on Tuner 0 I have channel 6 called CBLT. On Tuner 1 I have channel 5-1 which is CBLTDT. How can I tell 5-1 to use channel 6's lineup without removing channel 6 from my guide?

In the Channel Setup menu, you can use the Remap -> Map Different Station to this Physical Channel option to remap the station associated with the channel that is being tuned.

The same-named stations will end up being merged in the Program Guide, as mentioned in a couple places in the PDF manual one is p. 47 in the v6.5 manual. You can remap the logical numbers too if you want more control of the channel name shown in the guide.

BTW: you should try to have the DT channel mapped to the digital channel's guide data. If CBLT is SD & you map CBLTDT to it, then if the DT channel has HD airings of the same shows, SageTV won't know they are HD. On the other hand, if CBLTDT is simply the digital version of the SD channel, then you are fine.
