HD-PVR & HVR-1950

Can the built in ir blasters for both of these work on the same system with sagetv?

Or would the HVR-1950 need to use a external ir blaster?

You must get an USB-UIRT if have more then one Hauppauge device there no way a round that but if only have one USB, PCI or PCIe then all set you don't need any else just keep that in mind.

Thanks SHS, I already use one USB-UIRT I have a second one but I have learned I will have to do a little tweaking to get that to work since Sagetv does not work with a second one out of the box.

Not a big deal I was already prepared to go that route.

Thanks for the insight.

You can use a single USB-UIRT to control multiple boxes -- up to 3 boxes if they all use the same IR code set, or more boxes if each can be set to use a different IR code set.

You would only need a second one if you exceed the capabilities of a single USB-UIRT.

Hi Andy

I am using 1 HD-PVR with internal ir blaster and 3 HD-PVR's on one USB-UIRT and need to add a 5th device for an attempt at reserving for live tv (not for recordings)

So I do need to go with a second USB-UIRT and I have already gathered the details from Jon @ USB-UIRT which pretty much matches up to the posts in the forums dating back to 2003 etc

Strange how a second USB-UIRT usage has not really changed since 2003 much.

Thanks for your help.
