Beta Release 2.0.14 Update

We have opted to take a few more days to clean up the remaining bugs left in version 2.0 to release the 2.0.14 update. This allows us to then collect any new bugs you discover once 2.0.14 is released as opposed to informing you of existing bugs you should try to avoid if we were to release a build today.

I know everyone is anxious and we appreciate your patience. In the end you'll be much happier once we take the few extra days to clean everything up. Then once 2.0.14 is released hammer away and give us your feedback!

Thanks and have a great weekend.

Dan

I certainly won't complain about waiting until your known bugs are gone...

However, any comments on what it might include/not include? i.e: are there still things 'to be added', like mouse support on the playback screen (which keeps popping up on the forums) & so on?

This release will fix most of the known bugs and most of the oustanding UI issues. However, mouse/icon control and the picture library will not be included for 2.0.14. We are waiting until we have a UI design freeze to add the Mouse Icons.

As far as new features, I'm going to wait until we release 2.0.14 to give you that update

I figured the new features would be listed later... no sense in stirring the pot about things we can't play with!

I was really just curious about whether some stuff is still to be added & you answered that, so thanks for the update.

It would be nice to have a release just to fix the delete bug. I know there is a workaround, but it is not very wife friendly. Other than that Sage is working great for me. It would also be nice to have a new estimate on when the Media MVP support will be available. I am currently using SageTv as basically my scheduling/recording back end and using the MediaMVP as the front end. The hardware decoded picture from the MediaMVP looks much better than anything I have been able to get from the TV out from my computer. It will be nice to have the front/back be one application again. You have my $60, (2 MVP clients) as soon as Media MVP support is available.

I hope it will fix the OSD out issue on some of the systems with a PVR-350. That's the biggest main issue for me right now. ( Currently i have to restart SageTV 3-5 Times until the OSD is working so i still need a monitor connected)

I can only second that! With Sage running the 'backend' of the system, I have to run into my office to set up any recordings. The MVP currently does not have any way to set the files as watched as well. Most of the issues with the MVP are listed on SHS's forum at:

http://www.shspvr.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4385

... so a rehash of what it does not do is not warranted. The front end for Sage is highly anticipated by a great number of folks! I can only hope that we will see it soon after the RTM stage of Sage!

How about giving us a peak into the release notes early at least? ;-) Just scrolling around in there to see what got fixed and what is new would satisfy at least some of the anticipation :-)

Pleeeeeeeaaaaase ;-)

I vote YES on releasing the Release notes now. hehe

Why would they release the release notes when they don't know what they will and will not be able to fix yet? That would be shooting themselves in the foot.
