MVP Stopped working right! Overlapping menus...

Well,

Things have been going well lately so I must have known something would break...

I have an MVP hooked up to a 9 inch LCD by my home stereo as a way to surf and play music. I went to use it yesterday and it appears something is awry...

The menus overlap on top of each other and I suspect that it might have something to do with the latest plugins I have added (Artwork for default STV).

To try to fix, I...

- Pulled the power with Server still running and plugged it back in --> No impact
- Pulled the power, killed the server, started the server, plug it back in --> no impact
- Pull the power, killed the server, deleted the properties file in "clients" folder and backup, started the server, plug it back in --> inherited default settings... menus still overlapping
- Pull the power, killed the server, deleted the properties file in "clients" folder and backup, started the server, plug it back in, changed the default STV (while trying to see what I was doing with all those overlapping menus!) --> menus still overlapping
- Pull the power, killed the server, replaced the properties file in "clients" folder with one that was working from a two month sold backup, started the server, plug it back in --> Looks like old version, but menus still overlapping

I am not sure what next to try? I searched for this and found one post talking about it, but no real solution that worked.

Has anyone seen this? Do I need to reload the .bin file for the MVP? if that is something on can do?

UPDATE: SOLVED! Once again Andy saves the day! The background image I had selected was in a folder I moved when setting up the Background art. So as Andy explained, no background image, the menus draw upon themselves. I reverted to the default STV, selected a new background image (through the piles of menus!) and it was fixed. Reloaded my STV with imports and was good to go. See thread below.

I'm not sure if this is one you already did, but if not: revert to the default STV w/o any customizations installed. Also make sure the hidden extras have been disabled, if you had them turned on.

One cause for menus drawing themselves on top of each other is a missing background. If you customized the background & that file no longer exists, this could happen. Or, a missing background image for the current theme would also be a cause. The built-in themes use "background.jpg" as the background image.

I belive I did revert to teh Default, but I did not disable extras... and I believe the background file is still there, but I will check that too. Thanks Andy...
