Hi Jeff,

Thanks for trying the plugin.

Can you confirm you version of VLC please?

Only version 0.9.8 of VLC currently works with radio.

Two VLC sessions are used for radio - VLC not clever enough to do the whole job for radio in one go.

There are any number of reasons for no audio - a very common one being the link is bad.

Can you use the config tool please, edit your channel and press the "Test" button and then press "Start" to start the test.

Run the test for a minute or so.

Stop the test.

There are three set of logs output in the dialog displayed the three tabs.

The log output can be cut and paste from each of these tabs into a post.

Thanks,

Michael

Version 0.99

Michael,
I am running version 0.99... I had that already downloaded and thought I read somewhere that it worked. I had before that been running 0.86. I will try to find 0.98 and see how that works and report back to you. THANKS!!

I've just read through this entire thread.. This sounds like a great addition to Sage! Going to take a whack at installing it this weekend!

Hi Michael,

I managed to get the webfeedencoder install, but now when I go into configtool and add my channels it says that sage isn't running so I cannot
inject the lineup into sage. I attached my encoder log, hope you can help. .
I also had the same problem that Farmer Scott had with the installer not finding
the encoder.props file, but was able to get past this by running the installer from the root directory and installing it at c:\webfeedencoder, for some reason
if the directory I tried to install it in had a space in it
(ie program files\webfeedencoder) would say it could not find encoder.props and
exit out. I'm running windows xp, with jave 6.14

Thanks,
Jeff

HI,

Thanks for the feedback with the spaces - can't believe I fell into the directories with spaces trap. I'll get a fix out soon for that.

On the other issue.

Did you skip the SageTV configuration part or click on "Configure"?

Please check that there is a file called

wfesageplugin.jar

in

C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\JARs

(or your equivalent directory)

If there is not you may need to run the install program again, choose confgigure and skip to the sageTV configuration part.

If the jar file is there please find the file:

wfesageplugin.log

in

C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\

(or your equivalent directory)

and paste that to me.

Thanks for trying webfeedencoder.

Michael

Thanks for the quick response, I checked and wfesageplugin.jar is in the correct directory, I uninstalled and reinstalled just incase and the same issue remains, I'm posting my wfesageplugin.log but when I went into the sage directory there were over 100 copies of the log file.

Theres seems to have been a double configuration of SageTV.

Perhaps because it was installed in one place and then in another, perhaps without uninstalling from the original location.

I will have to make some changes to the installer to prevent this happening.

Theres two properties in sage.properties:

Code:
epg/epg_import_plugin=uk.co.mdjcox.epgplugin.EpgPlugin
and

Code:
epg/orig_epg_import_plugin
the later is supposed to have the previous value of the epg_import_plugin property or be blank if there was not one.

However here it also has the value uk.co.mdjcox.epgplugin.EpgPlugin which is leading to an inifinite loop constantly creating an instance of uk.co.mdjcox.epgplugin.EpgPlugin.

stop Sage
set the following property to nothing: e.g.
Code:
epg/orig_epg_import_plugin=
start Sage

All should be well.

You should check though - did you already use an import plugin?

In this case orig_epg_import_plugin should have a different value - but I cannot see from the auto backup what that might have been.

Without this value some of your original channels may not get their EPG.

Michael

I ended up uninstalled both sage and the webencoder. Once I got everything reinstalled and reconfigured the webcoder is now working. Thanks for the great
plugin. Now I get to setup my sirius channels and webcams. Thanks for the help, not sure how I ended up with 2 installs of sage.

Hi,
I just installed the whole package and when running configtool.jar, I get "web feed encoder not running". When starting the webfeed encoder service is starts up OK (no errors) but stops again after a few seconds. I also tried running encoder.jar, same result.

Could this be a vista 64 bit issue?

Hi,

There are various scenarios in which this may happen.

Please can you post the file webfeedencoder/logs/encoder.log and I will diagnose the problem.

Thanks,

Michael

Hi Michael,

Looks like a great plug-in. Can't wait to get it working.

However, I'm having the same install problems as Farmer Scott and have not been successful with moving the install location to c:\webfeedencoder like jpt1303 did. Any fixes for this?

Hi,

Farmer Scott lost interest at that point - understandably.

My last advice to the Farmer was in this post:

HTML Code:

I think the wrong version of java is being used to run the installer so need to run from the command line specifying the version to use. See above post.

Keen to know if that works for you.

Michael

Also try moving the delivered jar file to a directory without spaces.
Bingo! That works! Looks like there is a path issue with the install wizard.

Now on go Config!

Thanks!

Have successfully installed, run Config, added a few radio & one TV channel, verified that the service is running. All channels show up in SageTV EPG but none of them play ("no Signal"). Have also verfied that WebFeedEncoder shows up as a source. Any guidance you can give?

This looks like it will be a great addition to Sage!! Keep up the good work.

Nice documentation by the way....

Hi,

Which version of VLC do you have?

Can you paste the log file webfeedencoder/logs/encoder.log please.

Thanks,

Michael

Arrrgggh! Now I remember that you said WFE would not work with the latest version of VLC, which I have (V1.0.2). Can you point me to a download of the appropriate version (don't remember which it is).
