SageTV and web radio

Done a lot of searching the forum and still a bit unclear.

What the current state of play with web radio in sageTV?
  • are there any plugins considered "live" i.e. still maintained and compatible with current SageTV
  • do any of them work with extenders?

Be grateful for any pointers here.

Thanks,

Michael

Michael,
First off, you generally can find out what plugins, addons and themes are "live" working and maintained from this list of customizations. Opus does an excellent job of keeping that list maintained and updated.

Slim Player for SageMC
Pandora Radio
Slim Player for default STV
Simple Web Radio for default STV

Of those above, I've only used Pandora Radio, but can say that the Pandora Radio plugin is very, very nice.

Now for the bad news. None of these work with the extenders natively. You can get them to work using the "netflix hack" (you can read about that hack in the slim player thread). I hope some day soon it will be possible to use these plugins natively in the extenders but for now you have to use the hack. Hope that helps.

XM Radio via an MVP

I'm using the Pandora plug-in with the Netflix hack,a second sound card so I can select from the MVP and play through the stereo. Works good, but will this work for XM/Sirius as well? Thoughts?
