Hello,

I've attached two files: the output of ps.bat (redericted to a text file from a command prompt) and encoder.log. Ps.bat does produce a list, allthough formatting is a bit odd; you can see it in the file.

Best regards

Ah Damn. It seems that WMIC does not work properly in XP.
link

A search in google reveals lots of references like this.

Don't comment out the "exit" line and give it another go.

I'm preparing a release with a possible fix and a way of configure this feature for different OS.

Ok, my bad. I should have thought I'd better leave exit string untouched. Yes, it does appear to work when every line but exit is remarked. Log is attached.

Two older issues, if I may:
1. Any ideas about the automatic EPG issue I have?
2. What is your experience about the network encoder delay property I've mentioned a page or two before? Did it do any good for you? For me in the beginning it seemed to have done the trick, but later on I'm still back to having at least 10 seconds delay on play.

Best regards

Hi,

My bad - I told you to comment out everything!

I have another version shortly with attempt to implement process kill in your OS.

Automatic EPG issues. Can you send me encoder.props, and a channel properties file and channel type properties file for a channel you expect EPG for. Also encoder.log covering the period you expected the EPG to run. There might be a clue in there.

I tried changing that property in the Sage.properties but it made no diff. I notice that it is also in the client properties files. I never got around to altering those to much changing at once with all my testing. I will do though.

Sorry for delay in responding - been busy.

Here are all the files attached. I have no clue when the EPG update is supposed to run; some entries in the wfesageplugin.log suggest it tries to do smth at 10:00 am; but I don't know why.

Made some changes that will help diagnose.

Do you want we to post an updated 0.9.6 (my preference) or 0.9.5.

Just so I'm clear, at this point, if your Sage server is XP SP3, is the IP Camera portion working?

I made a repair; shall I leave the batch files remarked?

Configtool edit channel java exception

With 0.9.6 (not sure, original or the latest), edit channel gives java exception:

Yes just to be clear.

The old version called to batch files ps.bat and kill.bat. A new feature to ensure VLC dies after detuning.

However they don't work in XP so adn the symptom was that detuning never finished to the 2nd tune would not work.

Now there is a file called commands/os.commands which define for each OS the working command. The commands are called in a different way so they may work in XP.

If not remove the text after = for the relevant OS ps and kill commands and this will disable the kill feature.

The ps.bat and kill.bat are no longer used. You can delete.

The IP camera stuff should work and there are some sample channels.

The only other issue I have is a recent windows update to Vista and 7 seems to have complicated the permissioning and access to directories such that a vlc process appears but does nothing, creates no log file etc. What seem to be going on is that it cannot create the log file. The fix is to make the webfeedencoder dir and all files and sub directories accessible to SYSTEM and user that you run config tool. I just made it accessable to everyone.

Hope this helps.

Will answer other chats later - need to go.

Michael

OK, this didn't work, at least for 2003 server which I have. The ps and kill commands are identical for all operating systems; so I had to remove commands from there to make it work.

Does the Sage Server need to be stopped to upgrade to the latest beta? I didn't think so, but it wouldn't install for me. Trying on a WHS machine, but I do have version 0.9.5 installed and working.

I've attached a log.

Yes the Sage server has to be stopped - Sage.properties are updated.

OK will need to work out what to use for windows 2003. Its a shame cause the commands are supported I believe - from the command line - but call from another program and they do not return control.

I think you have your own channel type for mpeg tv. I provided a version of the one you sent me but with a different name.

You can start using the new with a bit of editing of your channel props or...

...you can keep using your original one. If you keep your original one you may need to add a property:

type.name=<some display name for you channel type>

Your problem may not be anything to do with this but check and see.

Also for ip camera users...

TV (silent) is the channel type.

It relies on finding a local audio device to supply sound - looking for a microphone.

If the recording has video only then the channel needs a better defaultAudioDevice property set to something than can provide an audio stream.
