Official word on Hulu Support

Every since the Hulu Demo on an HD-200 at CES, I have refrained from buying a Playon license. When Hulu cut off Boxee, the prospect of Hulu on an HD-200 came into question.

Is there any way we can get some sort of official word on the status of the Hulu on Sage implementation? I don't even really need (but it would be nice) an estimated completion date as much as whether or not is has been dropped altogether.

Thanks

Kent

Yes, I seond this. I'm trying to decide if I need to purchase PlayOn, or just wait a little while longer for native Hulu support.

Thanks!

I posted a similar question in the CES thread the other day. It wouldn't surprise me if the Boxee thing scared them off. If so, maybe Sage could just provide enough technical information so that an enterprising Sage user could write a plugin.

Since getting another HD-200, I am keen to get Hulu working in some fashion.

I did break down and get PlayOn a few weeks ago, but it can be quirky. I am looking forward to a true SageTV solution.

It is so frustrating when companies behave like this. Don't make an announcement and then turn around and keep us in the dark. This reminds me of another leading PVR software company that made an announcement and then got very silent about it with it never coming to fruition (however unlike Sage they never showed a working demo). Just be honest with us and tell us what is going on instead of leaving us hanging. If it is not possible now just tell us!

Brent has an interview with Narflex coming up soon and i'm sure he'll try to mine some Hulu info out of him. At the very least we can look forward to an official "Sage doesn't comment on unreleased features" straight from the horses mouth

Also bear in mind that if they are still working on it, there's probably an NDA in place that prohibits them from talking about it.

If some enterprising coder could import a UPnp client into Sage, then it would almost be moot...

Using the same development code that XBMC uses (Platinum UPnP), we could import from PlayOn/TVersity and let them do the heavy lifting...

It's always the users that come up with this stuff, not Sage. I wouldn't expect them to add something like this. I would look for an addin from some user!

Wouldn't an NDA also cover a highly-visible demo at a trade show too?
