Freeview DVB-T setup help (NZ DVB-T HDHR + SageTV 6.5.13 on Linux)

Hi all, I've recently taken delivery of my HDHomerun and HD200 front end.

I'm running the latest beta SageTV under Linux and the latest beta firmware on the HD200.

On my Mac I can run the HDHomerun GUI, do a scan and see the channels.

My SageTV installation see's the two tuners in my HDHR just fine.

When I try to do a channel scan in SageTV, it doesn't find any channels.

I'm puzzled where to go from here? Am missing an obvious setup step; the documentation for a Linux install seems non-existent ;-)

Any help would be appreciated.

BTW I am in Auckland, with my DVB-T aerial pointing at Waiataru, with great signal quality.

So do I need a *.scn or *.frq file specific to my installed HDHomerun?

I've tried using the Windows setup software to generate a *.scn file but can't find a *.scn file output anywhere.

Anyone got any idea what I should try next?

HDHR - Windows works, Linux doesn't

I've been posting here and at Silicondust but can't get anyone to respond.

The sagetv beta form is broken so I can't submit a bug.

My HDHR works fine under SageTV on windows, but not on Linux.

In Windows after I select one of the HDHR tuners I get another option to select my location (Auckland-Waiatarua, NZ). On Linux I never get this option.

Using the silicondust command line tools in Linux I can see my HDHR, channel scan and stream video using VLC.

It works in MythTV on my Linux box, but not SageTV.

I'm running 6.5.13 SageTV (Linux and Windows), latest HDHR firmware.

Tried both Java 1.5 and Java 1.6 (Sun's version).

I'm going to have to return my SageTV Linux OEM license if I can't get this working.

I've got this working, never had trouble with the HRDR and Linux. I'd be happy to help you, but I'll need some more information. Would you close sage, turn on debug logging in the properties file, then start sage again. Now, go and setup your sources with the HRDR and post the log from sagetv_0.txt.

Any other details about your setup would help to. Does sage work in every other respect?

kbyrd: are you using the DVB version of the HDHR? That's what akawoz is talking about, based on the original post I merged the new topic with.

akawoz: The DVB version of the HDHR is newer and my understanding is that support for it is not fully complete in SageTV.

Andy, thanks for your thoughts. It seems strange that SageTV 6.5.13 for Windows works fine with my HDHR, but SageTV 6.5.13 for Linux doesn't.

And yes this is the DVB-T version of the HDHR.

Can you please confirm that there is no support? I purchased the HW and SageTV based on the supported hardware on the sagetv.com website which doesn't differentiate between the DVB and non-DVB versions.

Ahh, I see. I should have seen "Auckland" and realized that. Nope, I'm using the ATSC/QAM version.

Thanks anyway!

Anyone else, or an official statement from SageTV about HDHR DVB support on Linux?

Warren.
