Recorded Sage Files to DVD size problem...

Hi Everyone,

I've been burning my Sage recordings to DVD all this week and I've started noticing a problem (I think).

I record all my shows with the DVD preset 2.5 GB.

I then you Mpeg Video Wizard 2003 to cut out the commericals and put the clips all back together.

For my DVD tool I've been using TMPGEnc DVD Author which makes it quick and easy to compile and burn DVD's.

My problem is when I watch them on my TV via my DVD player it is cutting off the top and bottom of the shows.

They show up fine on my Power DVD on a PC but not on my TV. Is this a problem with my DVD player? Or my TV display?

The files are created with sage at 720 by 480. Is this my problem? Do I now need to re-encode them to a smaller size? Or do you think I can make a change in my DVD Player for my TV.

My DVD is a Toshiba SD-4700 and my TV is a Sony 27 in. Trinitron (about 5 years old).

I've already blown several DVD's just learning my process so I really don't feel like wasting more money.

Anyone else have this same issue? Any ideas or options would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris

720 x 480 is fine. That's the standard resolution for a store bought DVD. I'm not familiar with the mpeg video wizard 2003. I do the whole thing from TMPGEnc Dvd Author-cut the commercials and burn it to the DVD and never had that issue. I would try doing it all without your mpeg video wizard 2003 and see if that helps.
